Where I can have custom trading cards printed?

    Question:

Where I can have custom trading cards printed?

Can I print my own cards at my home or office?

    Answer:

I don't recommend that you print the cards yourself because of the issues with lining up the front and back when using your own printer.

Many companies use Roes software to print trading cards. Below is a video on how to print with Roes and below the video are print labs that use Roes.

    Labs that use Roes:

Bayphoto.com (You need to download their free editing software, ROES, to print custom trading cards)

ddlabs (You need to download their free editing software, ROES, to print custom trading cards)

Meridian Professional Imaging (You need to download their free editing software, ROES, to print custom trading cards)

MpixPro (You need to download their free editing software, ROES, to print custom trading cards)

Miller's Lab (You need to download their free editing software, ROES, to print custom trading cards)

These are print labs that EASYdigitals.com customers have used and recommend:

    SitePrint.com

    MyTradingCards

    Pro Shooter Direct

    Custom Trading Cards

Please help us. If you know of a printer that will print custom cards or of a special paper, submit a ticket. Thanks!

What is the difference between the Photoshop and the Elements versions of Templates?

If I have created a separate Photoshop and Element version of a product then, the Elements version of all the templates can be used in Photoshop and Elements. However, the Photoshop version cannot be used in Elements.

Photoshop is a more robust program offering more features and layer FX. Also Photoshop gives the option to organize layers in folders. Since Elements does not have the option for Folders, when you open the a template with Folders in Elements you cannot get to the layers in the folders and that's what causes most of the problems. In the case where the description says it will work with Photoshop or Elements, that usually means that it has no Folders or special FX that Elements cannot handle.

In conclusion, if you want to use the templates in Photoshop or Elements then I recommend that you buy the Elements version of the template.

If you upgrade to Photoshop, you can send me a support ticket asking for the new version and I can send it to you.

How do I remove a person from the background?

I have made several tutorals and youtube playlists to help you with this.

    Photoshop Extractons for Composites

Selling the Illusion when replacing a background Photoshop

I’d like to be able to add team logos to the templates, what format do I need the teams to send in there logos and do you offer a tutorial for that process?

If they can send you a png file, hopefully it will make the edges transparent. If they give you an .esp file it will work with Illustrator and you will need to export it so that it will work with Photoshop. Do an internet search for "exporting a file to png format in Illustrator" and I'm sure you can find several videos on how to do it.

I do have a tutorial where I show how to add a logo to a template.

This is a tutorial on how to add a logo to a backdrop.

I know you said its for an 8×10″ print. What if I need to print it larger, what kind of quality would I get?

The EasyDigital.com templates are usually 300 dpi. Any of our product that are 8×10" can be printed up to 16×18" without it looking pixelated. Depending on the product though you might need to crop the sides to print at a different size. Also your photograph will need to be high quality at the larger size. When printing smaller than 150 dpi, ask your print lab about the results for their printer.

Do I have to use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to modify the templates?

    Yes (and no)!

The templates and layered backdrops come in a .psd format with layers. Therefore Photoshop or Elements is needed to work with them.

Photoshop Elements is a fairly inexpensive option and well worth the investment if you are going to spend any time modifying your photos. For a free 30 day trial of Elements click here.

Photoshop’s full version can be a good investment as well, however it is a bit more expensive. For a free 30 day trial of Photoshop click here. If you or a family member qualify, you can purchase the educational version and for hundreds of dollars cheaper than the normal version and it has the same features.

That being said, we do have some backgrounds in .tif and .jpg format that do not need Photoshop or Elements, you can use any program with that allows .tif, .jpg or .png files to work with them.
